Until a few years ago, if you were to buy an iPhone, the choice came down to very small details: how much storage you want from your iPhone and, as a result, how much you are willing to pay for it.

Now Apple releases several models a year, and it becomes much more difficult to choose. For example, starting with the 5C series, the budget iPhone line appeared, the 6S, 7 and 8 models are also of interest and have different capabilities. The choice has really become wider, do you want to get fancy Face ID, or will you get by with Touch ID the old fashioned way? Are you interested in animated stickers?

As for the iPhone models, there are only 8 of them on sale right now, and we’ll take a closer look at each one.

  1. iPhone X

An uncompromising flagship, iPhone X brings you everything Apple has come up with. Among the iPhones, dozens have the best and largest display with a diagonal of 5.8 inches. The quality of the OLED display, which is called SuperRetina, cannot be disputed, and there is nothing to dispute — both games and videos on this display look clear, sharp and voluminous, but, I must say, no one expected less. iPhone X provides 448 pixels per inch at a resolution of 2436x1125, plus True Tone technology that controls the brightness of the display and adjusts it to the environment.

The display occupies the entire front surface of the case, leaving only a small border. In short, outwardly this smartphone looks impressive, and despite the screen, the device itself is even smaller than the 8 Plus model!

No less successful is its filling — the latest A11 Bionic processor. With its amazing power, you can effortlessly play the latest games, be it 3D or augmented reality.

This smartphone is equipped with all the latest innovations: wireless charging, TrueDepth camera, biometric owner recognition, and an incredible camera with a lot of advantages. As always, iPhone is compatible with Apple Watch, wireless AirPods, and other Apple products.

The iPhone X is the most advanced, but also the most expensive iPhone, so it is suitable for those who want to get the latest devices and features.

  1. iPhone 8 Plus

If we talk about the characteristics of this smartphone, it’s easiest to go back to the iPhone X and look at the key specifications. iPhone 8 Plus is not much different from its older brother and flagship: the same processor inside, the same amount of RAM and internal memory, the same type of screen. Plus, in the same way, you will get the opportunity to use wireless charging.

There are only a few differences between smartphones. The first is, of course, the body. iPhone 8 Plus is presented in a classic case familiar to us, which is not too different from its predecessors. The screen, respectively, is less than the tenth model — 5.5 inches. Not equipped with iPhone 8 Plus and a unique front camera that allows you to use Face ID and animated emoji.

Despite all this, you will get absolutely identical power, and the A11 Bionic processor, and convenient iOS, and a fingerprint scanner, and a dual camera with a lot of settings.

The most important advantage of the iPhone 8 Plus is the price. It costs significantly less than its flagship counterpart.

That being said, you’ll still be using one of the latest iPhone models, and you’ll be able to choose your preferred color, because the iPhone X is only available in two variants, but the eighth model has plenty to choose from.

  1. iPhone 8

iPhone 8 is another latest generation smartphone, and most of its features are similar to 8 Plus: wireless charging, 3D Touch, Touch ID, NFC, Apple Play, Apple Watch compatibility. The built-in memory options and A11 Bionic processor are also identical on the two smartphones.

This smartphone is suitable for those who do not chase large screens, since the display diagonal on the iPhone 8 is 4.7 inches. At the same time, its quality, of course, is on top and you still get a great clear and sharp image.

As for the differences, it is worth noting the lack of Face ID, just like on the iPhone 8 Plus – this feature is only available on the top ten so far. The iPhone 8 has only one camera, although it still takes high quality pictures. But you won’t get a dual lens (wide-angle and telephoto) like you get on the iPhone X and 8 Plus, nor will you get Portrait Lighting on the 8.

Of course, continuing the tradition of the 7, the iPhone 8 doesn’t have a headphone jack, but it does work flawlessly with Apple’s wireless AirPods.

This smartphone is ideal for those who want to get the latest and the most modern power, while spending the lowest possible amount.

  1. iPhone 7 Plus

This is where the conversation gets interesting. The 7 Plus is a great smartphone and today it can handle all the tasks you need, from games and applications to communication and photography. There is nothing to complain about in it, and many come to the conclusion that it is too early to change the 7‑ku for a newer iPhone.

The flagship of 2016–17, the iPhone 7 Plus is significantly cheaper today than the X and 8/8 Plus models. This is already enough to draw attention to him, but that’s not all.

The iPhone 7 Plus has a great camera, a beautiful bright screen, plenty of storage, and a powerful processor.

I must say that the processor of the previous generation does not remind of itself at all while working with 7 Plus, in most cases the difference is not noticeable at all. The same goes for the camera. Even though she does not have portrait lighting, the photos still turn out to be gorgeous.

The last point that may disappoint iPhone fans is the lack of wireless charging. But this, in fact, is not so important — the iPhone 7 Plus charges quickly and confidently serves you all day. Well, a compromise price is a virtue that is not so easy to beat.

  1. iPhone 7

It is safe to say that today the iPhone 7 is one of the most profitable smartphones in terms of price / novelty / quality ratio. Basically, you get the same power in this device as the iPhone 7 Plus, but in a smaller package and at a more affordable price. Plus, iPhone 7 fits easily in the palm of your hand or in your pocket.

The only concession you’ll have to make is the lack of a dual camera. Although it must be said that the iPhone 7 does an excellent job with photos, despite this.

Other than that, you’ll get the perfect device for video, gaming, calls, chatting, work, and more. The device’s speakers are loud enough to listen to music, and when you connect wireless AirPods, you can enjoy the exceptional sound of your favorite tracks.

iPhone 7 is Apple’s first water-resistant smartphone, all previous versions are not equipped with such protection.

All this in a stylish metal case, the appearance of which is pleasantly pleasing to the eye.

  1. iPhone 6S Plus

Announced a few years ago, and not a flagship for a long time, the iPhone 6S Plus still holds its own, and is able to outperform many other smartphones. For everyday tasks, it fits perfectly, and supports most of the available Apple technologies — Touch ID, fast charging, Apple Pay, 3D Touch, Retina display. The smartphone is perfectly synchronized with Apple laptops, Apple Watch and other devices.

For those who are frustrated by the lack of a headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and newer models, the iPhone 6S is a breath of fresh air because you can plug any headphones into it. Today, the cost of the iPhone 6S is significantly lower than other smartphones, which makes it a great option for those who are not chasing the latest innovations, but want to get a powerful and high-quality device from Apple.

Another small drawback is the lack of a dual camera on the smartphone, this novelty appeared later. But by no means should you consider the iPhone 6S Plus camera to be worse than others — it is still considered one of the highest quality on the market.

  1. iPhone 6S

Almost the same thing that we see in the iPhone 6S Plus, we see in his younger brother. All the same filling and the same characteristics, all the same power and quality. The main difference is the smaller screen (just like other models compared to their Plus counterparts) and of course the price of the iPhone 6S is almost the most budget version of Apple’s smartphone, so it will definitely suit those who do not ready to overpay, but seeks to get the iOS ecosystem.

Probably, the iPhone 6S will not handle the most newfangled and heavy games, so it is best suited for communication, work and watching videos.

But the headphone jack will remain with you, and the possibility of fast charging, and a high-quality display, and of course, a durable metal case with a large selection of color options.

  1. iPhone SE

It may seem surprising, but the iPhone SE, being the budget version of the iPhone, still holds its own. The smartphone has a small compact body with a rich and bright screen, and its design is easily recognizable as iPhone 5S. At the same time, the power of the smartphone is enough for 3D games, video and communication. The battery easily lasts a day of work.

In addition, it is without a doubt the cheapest iPhone available on the market today, and all Apple devices sync seamlessly with it.

You don’t have to give up Apple Pay, Touch ID, fast charging, and other nice iPhone features. And even the camera remains high quality even several years after the release of the device. In addition to all this, the smartphone is capable of shooting 4K video.

Perhaps the only negative of the iPhone SE is that it is the oldest iPhone model available on the market and so far we have not heard news about an update to this device. But who knows, maybe it will happen in 2018.
