This year, at the begin­ning of June, the most inter­est­ing events in the world of com­put­er games fell. With a slight time dif­fer­ence of a few days, the EA Play and E3 exhi­bi­tions took place, and of course, each brought a lot of hot­ly dis­cussed news. EA Play, as always, focused on its own fran­chise games, while E3 showed us both games from large stu­dios and small indie pro­duc­ers. It is extreme­ly easy to get lost in the new games, so we have gath­ered all the scat­tered infor­ma­tion togeth­er and now we are ready to share with you the most antic­i­pat­ed games!

EA Play

Every­one knows EA, albeit not always in the best light. But what she can do is col­lect huge fran­chis­es under her roof and cre­ate very leg­endary games. We will look at them today.

One of the most antic­i­pat­ed games that has already met its por­tion of both neg­a­tive and pos­i­tive is Star Wars Jedi Fall­en Order. What can we say, judg­ing by the trail­er, the game should become a real com­peti­tor to the major releas­es of last year — exclu­sive to PS Spi­der Man and Red Dead Redemp­tion 2. EA also showed what awaits fans of the shoot­er Apex Leg­ends, name­ly the new playable char­ac­ter Wat­son. What dis­tin­guish­es her is that Wat­son is an engi­neer and, unlike DPS char­ac­ters, focus­es on traps and defense. A new weapon will also be added to the game — the L‑Star plas­ma gun. Also, with the update it is worth wait­ing for some minor changes and mod­i­fi­ca­tions. All this was pre­sent­ed in a touch­ing ani­mat­ed video and pre­sen­ta­tion, and new items will be includ­ed in the game on July 2, so the wait will not be long.

Updates in the form of new maps are com­ing to oth­er games, such as Bat­tle­field V and Bat­tle­front II. For the sec­ond game, this is the map of the plan­et Naboo, which launch­es on June 26th.

EA Sports is think­ing in terms of the future, so 20 games like FIFA and Mad­den have already been announced and described. These are all the same games, reworked and updat­ed in accor­dance with the com­po­si­tion of the teams and the sta­tus of the play­ers. FIFA is also look­ing for­ward to a new smarter sys­tem focused on 1‑on‑1 play, while Mad­den is look­ing at the abil­i­ty of the play­ers.

And of course, not with­out the leg­endary “Sims”. The Sims 4 is get­ting a new addon this sum­mer called Island Liv­ing that will give play­ers the abil­i­ty to send Sims to the trop­ics, swim with dol­phins, and more. Rumor has it that the devel­op­ers have even hint­ed that the next addi­tion will be some­thing mag­i­cal, sim­i­lar to the Sims 3 Super­nat­ur­al.

E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo trade show)

Well, every­thing is clear with EA games, but what about oth­er devel­op­ers? You can learn about this from the E3 exhi­bi­tion, where even more new prod­ucts were pre­sent­ed.

If any­one can beat EA, it’s Square Enix. It was this com­pa­ny that espe­cial­ly dis­tin­guished itself in 2019 and pre­sent­ed a lot of inter­est­ing things.

The pop­u­lar Final Fan­ta­sy series of games is still not a thing of the past, more­over, its pop­u­lar­i­ty is only grow­ing. That’s why we get a remake of Final Fan­ta­sy VII. The game itself was released in 1997, so it’s not sur­pris­ing that fans were delight­ed with this news. The project will not stop there and, appar­ent­ly, oth­er clas­sic games of the series will be reworked. In the mean­time, at E3 we saw a trail­er that almost drove the fans crazy.

Final Fan­ta­sy Crys­tal Chron­i­cles remas­tered will be avail­able this win­ter on PS4 and Nin­ten­do Switch, Octopath Trav­el­er on PC and Steam, The Last Rem­nant is already avail­able on Xbox 360 and PC. A lot of the com­pa­ny’s games have received revi­sions or addi­tions.

As for new prod­ucts, there is also some­thing to see here.

Dying Light 2 is a new open world sur­vival game. At the exhi­bi­tion, the com­pa­ny pre­sent­ed a trail­er with game­play. Graph­ics and mood cre­ate a very spe­cif­ic atmos­phere, and the game itself will be released in the spring of 2020.

Out­rid­ers is a new project that the stu­dio is work­ing on, a sci-fi shoot­er whose trail­er looks quite ambi­tious.

And of course, the most high-pro­file project that imme­di­ate­ly attract­ed the atten­tion of numer­ous media is Mar­vel’s Avengers. The long-await­ed game, about which not as much is known as we would like, final­ly received a trail­er, but, unfor­tu­nate­ly, the atten­tion was not entire­ly pos­i­tive. For exam­ple, fans of the char­ac­ters imme­di­ate­ly began to joke about the appear­ance of the char­ac­ters in the trail­er. But expe­ri­ence shows that the design of the char­ac­ters can still be changed, but the plot …

The plot of the game is dif­fer­ent from films, and from comics or ani­ma­tion. This is a com­plete­ly new sto­ry that exists in its own time­line and sounds very tempt­ing. In addi­tion, it is known that in addi­tion to the cam­paign for a sin­gle play­er, a mul­ti­play­er mode will also be avail­able.

The game will be avail­able on con­soles, PC and Google Sta­dia on May 15, 2020.

Xbox game stu­dios is also con­tin­u­ing its saga with the new release of Halo 6. The trail­er of the game was pre­sent­ed at the exhi­bi­tion, which with­out a doubt left as many ques­tions as it delight­ed. The release of the game is sched­uled for the hol­i­day sea­son of 2020, and per­haps the main news is not at all in the game itself, but in the new con­sole for which it will be released.

Xbox Project Scar­lett is an unnamed Xbox con­sole that will be the next step for the com­pa­ny. In addi­tion to Halo and Project Scar­lett, Microsoft showed Gears [of War] 5 with new skins, a map edi­tor and a three-play­er online mode, the hor­ror Blair Witch and Lego Star Wars: The Sky­walk­er Saga, and sev­er­al oth­er new games.

The most viewed trail­er was the trail­er for Cyber­punk 2077 by CD Pro­jekt Red. This is anoth­er game that will be avail­able on both Xbox One, PS4 and PC. After the first teas­er, she cre­at­ed a lot of noise, becom­ing one of the most antic­i­pat­ed games. Fans were impressed by both the graph­ics and the plot, and many were also involved in the Keanu Reeves project, which was not­ed in the new trail­er. From­Soft­ware, known to us from the Dark Souls fran­chise, intro­duced Elden Ring. It is this game that is the project of the author of “A Song of Ice and Fire”, on which the TV series “Game of Thrones” D. Mar­tin was filmed. It is expect­ed that the game will com­bine the nar­ra­tive style famil­iar to us from the book, and indeed the series, with the bru­tal­i­ty and style of Dark Souls. So she will get every chance to become an inter­est­ing project for fan­ta­sy lovers.

Anoth­er project for those who love fan­ta­sy is The Dark Crys­tal: Age of Resis­tance Tac­tics. The game will be released by En Masse Enter­tain­ment for the Nin­ten­do Switch. And it will be released just in 2019, in sup­port of the new Net­flix series of the same name, which, in turn, will be a pre­quel to the clas­sic 1982 film The Dark Crys­tal. The game will cer­tain­ly get a fas­ci­nat­ing plot and will be inter­est­ing even to those who have not watched the movie. And you can play it both on a small con­sole and on a big screen.

Def­i­nite­ly, in the near future we will have a huge num­ber of games for both PC and con­soles. Expe­ri­enced gamers know how impor­tant a pow­er­ful gam­ing machine is. For those who appre­ci­ate porta­bil­i­ty, the Nin­ten­do Switch is a com­pact and styl­ish con­sole that can con­nect to a TV or serve as a stand­alone. It is equipped with spe­cial con­trollers and a large library of games.

Of course, VR gam­ing should not be ignored either. If you want to immerse your­self in vir­tu­al real­i­ty, then you can do it on the con­sole and on the PC. In the first case, the Sony PlaySta­tion VR will suit you, and in the sec­ond, the HTC Vive hel­met with great graph­ics and sound.

No mat­ter what kind of games you pre­fer: shoot­ers, MMORPGs, detec­tives, quests, rac­ing or some­thing else, dozens of dif­fer­ent new prod­ucts are pre­sent­ed at E3 every year. And if you don’t meet the expect­ed release, don’t be dis­cour­aged, many stu­dios present their games through­out the year or at their own events. So be patient and join the game!
