Apple recently announced its iPhone lineup for 2017. These are the expected iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, and of course, the innovative iPhone X. However, we are not seeing all the features of the new top smartphone or the smartphone of the future for the first time. And, if you still want to touch the future today, we picked up a few smartphones that were ahead of Apple and turned out to be much more affordable.

The whole smartphone is one big screen

If you want to enjoy a smartphone that’s all one big screen, then you have plenty to choose from, even if you’re not ready to get an iPhone 10.

One of the smartphones with a truly huge display that takes up the entire front of the device is the Xiaomi Mi Mix.

This smartphone appeared in 2017, its bezel-less display has a diagonal of 6.8 inches. 6 GB of RAM, powerful Snapdragon 821 — all this only emphasizes the capabilities of this smartphone. But very soon, his successor, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, will be on sale. By the way, the novelty will not be as huge at all. Display Mi Mix 2 will receive a diagonal of 5.99 inches. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor.

Xiaomi is not the only company that has chosen to get rid of the buttons on the front panel — LG already did the same in 2016 in the LG V20 smartphone and in the new product that will soon enter the market — LG V30. The latest smartphone will support QHD +, just like the Samsung Galaxy S8, too, by the way, without screen bezels.

Wireless charger

With the eighth and tenth models, the iPhone finally began to support wireless charging technology. True, unlike, for example, Samsung, Apple limited itself exclusively to Qi.

The range of Samsung smartphones that support Qi, PMA and AirFuel is quite wide. All Galaxy S series smartphones after the Galaxy S7 are already equipped with this option. (Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7 Active, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus).

As for the Galaxy S7 Edge, this smartphone will also please its users with a display with curved edges. Although no longer a novelty, the S7 Edge is still one of the most powerful smartphones, perfect for gaming, music and watching videos.

Switched to wireless charging and smartphones Moto Z series, but they, like the iPhone, only support Qi.

To be fair, while wireless charging still takes longer than fast cable charging, it’s actually easier to use.

Face recognition

One of the most sensational features of the new iPhone X, and one that no other competitor smartphone comes close to being so thoughtful, is facial recognition, or Face ID. If early reviews are to be believed, unlocking the iPhone X is as easy as looking at it. At the same time, the smartphone studies all the details and biometrics of the owner’s face, remembers the data and then takes pictures to compare it with the original and either give access to the smartphone or not. The probability of a coincidence is 1 in 1,000,000. Whether this is actually the case, we will find out very soon, but for now let’s see who else has applied this technology.

Apple is indeed not the first company to decide that a fingerprint is not enough to protect data. Owner’s face recognition appeared even earlier on the LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

True, on the latest smartphones, the function can still be deceived with the help of a photo.

It seems that in terms of data protection, Apple still managed to beat the competition.

Glass back

The glass back is one of the key elements in the design of the new iPhone X. It really adds to the smart and expensive look of the smartphone, this is what the premium devices of the future look like. However, in this case, Apple picked up a popular trend rather than became a pioneer. The same technique was used in the design of the notorious Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 — smartphones that became the main topics at the beginning of the year.

One can only assume that other manufacturers will soon follow the leaders.

AMOLED display

A powerful and bright display is a must-have feature for a smartphone whose entire front panel is occupied by the screen. But in 2017, even budget smartphone makers, like Asus with its Zenfone Zoom 3, have turned to richer, higher quality AMOLED displays.

Apple has responded with a screen called Super Retina. Super Retina is an OLED display that is “good enough for an iPhone”. According to the manufacturers, it has all the advantages of OLED, but does not have the disadvantages of this technology, such as excessive brightness, insufficiently correct color reproduction, and so on. Which of the displays is still better, it will be more logical to judge when the iPhone X hits the shelves.

augmented reality

Augmented reality is considered the future of gaming and other applications. Manufacturers claim that the iPhone X is a smartphone fully prepared for augmented reality. True, a special smartphone for AR appeared a little earlier — Asus Zenfone AR. It is equipped with 8GB of RAM and three cameras, only one of which is responsible for taking photos. The main function of this device is to work with the Google platform for augmented reality. Even earlier, Lenovo Phab 2 Pro appeared, with a 6.4‑inch screen.

Dual camera

The dual camera is not new to the iPhone, but even before the iPhone 7 Plus, when it first appeared, LG and Huawei smartphones were already equipped with such a camera. Huawei even partnered with Leica to provide the device with a really high-quality camera from a manufacturer with a very high-profile name in the photography industry.

While the iPhone X is still not on sale, the Samsung Galaxy S8 still retains the title of the most advanced smartphone. Powerful processor, amazing curved display and most of the latest technology in your pocket.

It is incredibly convenient to take photos and videos, play games and watch movies with this smartphone.

Bonuses and surprises are waiting for all buyers of Samsung smartphones in the Photosklad store!

The amazingly stylish Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is a leader in size and is ideal for anyone who appreciates convenience, functionality and an affordable price. It’s great for work and everyday tasks, with a large screen and loud speakers.

This smartphone will please anyone and will be a great gift.

Huawei P10 is a smartphone that combines a reasonable price and excellent quality. Specially designed for photography enthusiasts, it features two Leica main cameras and a user-friendly photo app with many settings. A huge selection of body colors ensures that everyone can choose Huawei P10 especially for themselves
