So the traditional autumn Apple event has passed, and the long-awaited new products of the company have finally been announced. That means it’s time to talk in detail about what’s special about each new iPhone model and why the Apple Watch Series 4 is a breakthrough in technology.

iPhone Xs

Everyone who attended the event, watched the broadcast, or at least read the news, is aware that Apple has followed the classic path — it has created two models of the flagship iPhone. The smaller one is called the iPhone Xs, and the larger one is called the iPhone Xs Max.

Many agreed that the iPhone Xs has not gone as far from the “ten” as we would like. Having set a new direction for smartphones with the previous iPhone, the company moved into a refinement phase, adding and improving already existing smartphone features.

Thus, in the new device, it is possible to choose a model with 512GB of internal memory, a new A12 Bionic processor and an improved display work inside.

Externally, the smartphone has remained virtually unchanged, although many were pleased with the addition of a golden model of the device. Thin display bezels, steel edging on the sides and, of course, “bang” — all this still characterizes the iPhone.

Both the front and back sides of the case are still covered with glass. Premium design and decent appearance, perhaps this is how you can describe this device. By the way, in the hands it does not differ from ten, so if you are worried about the appearance of the smartphone, do not rush to change X to Xs — no one will notice the difference.

The display on the Xs is the same 5.8‑inch OLED display with vibrant, rich colors that was dubbed the most advanced display on an iPhone last year. Thanks to some small improvements, the performance of the display is increased — the dynamic range is 60% higher.

The speed of the device is definitely worth noting — the A12 Bionic processor really copes with any task in a fraction of a second, allowing you to easily navigate between applications, chat, watch movies or play games.

The camera seemed to be one of the most anticipated changes, with predictions and leaks hinting that the new iPhone would have as many as three cameras, or an incredibly improved camera. However, in practice it turned out that the company is already very satisfied with the result. The standard-size model finally gets a dual camera, both of which have a resolution of 12MP, plus optical zoom and optical stabilization. One lens is wide-angle, the other is telephoto.

The camera app now allows you to create even more spectacular bokeh. But in general, we can say that Apple is aiming for its new camera to catch up with the Google Pixel 2 and Huawei P20 Pro.

As for the battery, the manufacturers promised 30 minutes more work. This is not much, but there is a simple explanation for this — a more powerful processor requires a more capacious battery. Considering the fact that the iPhone X has a battery capacity of only 2700 mAh, which is enough for a day with active use, we can assume that the duration of the novelty will not change much in comparison.

The model definitely lives up to the “S” name, usually meaning small changes.

iPhone Xs Max

The main difference between a large iPhone is, of course, a 6.5‑inch display and an improved battery for it. Most of the other features are the same as the Xs model: the same two cameras, the same processor, support for eSim or dual SIM depending on the market, and a 512GB storage configuration. Surprisingly, the Max didn’t bring any revolutionary changes to the Xs. The smartphone is just as impressive in design, although some may find it too big.

Of course, the price of the model will also differ.

Many drew attention to the non-standard name, because for the first time Apple abandoned the Plus prefix in favor of the not-so-original Max version. Whatever that means, Mi Max immediately comes to mind.

iPhone Xr

All iPhone fans expected to see not only a new flagship model, but also a new budget version. There were a lot of rumors and talk about what kind of model it would be, whether it would be a continuation of the SE series, and whether it would be more like the iPhone 8 or iPhone X. Speculation cleared up a little with the appearance of information about the purchase of special displays, but the talk did not fade away.

Well, this time the budget version is not too affordable, but very impressively powerful. The smartphone has everything that we liked in the iPhone X: features such as a near borderless display, a high-quality, if not dual, camera, Face ID. All this has become a little more affordable, because the Xr is much cheaper than the iPhone X. Well, many will also be pleased with a large selection of different body colors. The cost reduction was mainly due to another display — LCD, which was called Liquid Retina. At the same time, the display is very improved and the difference is almost imperceptible to most users. Apart from the lack of HDR, this is quite an impressive display.

In terms of design, the Xr doesn’t disappoint, it’s the same iPhone in the corporate style, made of quality materials and covered with glass. It feels a little bigger than its main comrade — the Xs model, but this will be noticeable only if you keep smartphones nearby. In general, the smartphone looks very expensive and presentable.

The camera on the iPhone Xr is fairly weaker than the cameras on the Xs and Xs Max, there is nothing surprising in this, because this is a single camera, albeit a wide-angle one. The absence of an additional lens affects only the optical zoom and tricky portrait photography. However, in general, it allows you to create bokeh and take high quality pictures. Matrix resolution 12MP.

There are no full specifications of the smartphone yet, but in general, it is impressive. Although the budget of the iPhone Xr model is a big question, there is no doubt about its quality and advancement.

Apple Watch4

If there’s been a major design change, it’s this Apple Watch. The main change was the display, now it is larger and the difference is quite noticeable when you put the watch on your wrist. The OLED display has more rounded edges, eliminating the need to look at the edge of the screen. At the same time, the ability to use all interchangeable straps is preserved. I must say that many requirements were not taken into account. So, for example, the screen does not have an always-on function. But this does not prevent him from being bright, pleasant and understandable in management and, in general, very effective.

The control wheel also received an upgrade and now it can take ECG readings. By the way, it also became more convenient in management.

The back of the watch is made of ceramic with sapphire elements that allow the mobile signal to pass through.

Most of the features remain unchanged, although the new S4 processor has definitely made a positive difference to battery life. 18 hours of work after charging — this is exactly what the manufacturers promise us.

In general, if you are going to buy your first watch from Apple, it would be wiser to choose a new model. But if you have just purchased a watch of the 3rd series, then you should not rush to change it for a new one.

In general, we can assume that something really impressive will be in store for us next year, otherwise how else to explain the very small number of changes in all new devices? Nothing particularly revolutionary, as was the case with previous iPhones and especially the iPhone X, did not happen. Moreover, many fans of the brand were disappointed with the presentation. For example, no news about AirPower wireless charging has appeared.

Other devices, such as headphones, MacBooks and Apple TVs, also appeared in the shadow. By the way, the MacBook Air lineup has been in need of an update for a long time, I would like to hear news about the Pro models.

It is quite possible that we are waiting for another Apple event in October, and at it, many will be waiting for more detailed information and announcements about other devices. In the meantime, it remains to discuss the latest iPhone and wait for their full release.
