The ring light is a very convenient solution for photography and video shooting, it is well suited for various blogs and high-quality images. In this publication, I will make a detailed review of one very interesting autonomous lamp model with a 2000 mAh battery, which I purchased on the Aliexpress website.

After placing the order, the lamp was delivered in about two weeks to the local post office. It comes in a cardboard box, inside which there is a special insert, it is designed to fix the device and protect it during transportation.

Also, complete with a ring light, I ordered a small folding tripod, which I had previously reviewed on my blog on the site. Therefore, within the framework of this publication, I will not dwell on it.

Inside the box is the lamp itself, the charging cable and instructions. The instruction is printed in Chinese and English, and also has additional illustrations that, if necessary, will help you understand the device.

As for the charging cable, it has a modern Type‑C connector, and its length is almost 1 meter, it is also worth noting that the cable sheath is soft and elastic. It can be seen that the cable is made with high quality and, in my opinion, it should last a long time, and it can also be used to charge third-party devices.

The lamp is made of high quality, its body is rigid and well assembled. A matte light diffuser is installed on the front side of the device. In general, the first impressions of the device are positive.

On the back side there is a manufacturer’s logo, as well as a small technical specification.

On the bottom of the device there is a standard threaded lock, as well as a “foot” for installing the lamp in a “hot shoe” type connector. And for clamping the ring light in the “hot shoe” there is a special rotating wheel.

On the top of the device, the manufacturer installed the entire interface in the form of two control wheels, a power button, a charging port and a charge indicator. The lamp is turned on by pressing the central button, the wheel with the signature “DIM” is responsible for the brightness of the light flux, and the wheel with the signature “CT” for the glow temperature, which is adjustable from 3200K to 5600K. The charge indicator on the lamp is made in the form of four LEDs, the indication of each of which is responsible for approximately 25% of the remaining charge. And, as I said earlier, this device has a modern Type‑C charging connector.

Dimensions and weight

The weight of the device is 183 grams, and its outer diameter is 150 millimeters, the height of the lamp, taking into account the latch, is 164 mm. The dimensions of the device, in my opinion, make it easy to carry it with you and use it at any time if necessary.

Scope of application

The lamp can be widely used for solving various tasks, it can be used as a main or additional lighting, mounted on a tripod, or used with a monopod for personal shooting.

Thanks to a special hot shoe slot, the ring light can be additionally equipped with various equipment in the form of a microphone or decorative lighting.

If you are interested in the additional lamp in the photo above, I also have a detailed review of it in the blog on the site.

Below I will attach a few photos of how objects are seen under the light of this lamp. It may not be visible in the photo, but the color rendering index on the lamp is really very high, I compared it with two similar lamps that I had in stock, and this model showed, in my opinion, the best results. The manufacturer claims that the CRI of this model is 95.

Main technical characteristics

When the lamp is set to charge, four LEDs flash alternately, and when every 25% of the battery charge is reached, one of the LEDs starts to burn constantly, so you can easily determine the current charge level. On a single charge at maximum brightness, the lamp works for about 2 hours. Moreover, the manufacturer claims that the device can work for about 80 minutes, but it definitely works longer in any mode of use. But fast charging, of course, is not enough for the lamp, it takes more than one hour to charge the device. And this is perhaps the only negative.

Below is a photo with data from a light meter. The measurements were carried out at arm’s length from the lamp in the absence of additional lighting. The readings were recorded under different operating modes of the device, at different brightness and glow temperature. When measuring, the luxmeter displays readings from 300 to 620 Lux.

Summing up, I want to say that this is an excellent compact ring light that can work for a long time on the built-in battery, the light is well-assembled and has a microphone connector. In my opinion, this ring luminaire is an excellent solution for improving lighting conditions, if it is not possible to take larger items. I can wholeheartedly recommend this product for purchase. If you have any questions, I will try to answer them in the comments.
