Tripod Xiletu TB255A + B36 — when every penny is justified

Today we will talk about a high-qual­i­ty tri­pod from the man­u­fac­tur­er Xile­tu.

Man­u­fac­tur­er Xile­tu spe­cial­izes in the pro­duc­tion of pho­to and video acces­sories, main­ly tripods. There is a web­site where you can read about the com­pa­ny and see all the prod­ucts. There is also a store on Aliex­press.

By the way, I already have one tri­pod of this man­u­fac­tur­er, I use it to this day — I am sat­is­fied with every­thing.

The par­cel was sent by Chi­na Post and the deliv­ery time to Ukraine was 22 days.

Comes with a tri­pod bag that can be car­ried in hand or on the shoul­der.

There are 2 pock­ets: out­er and inner.

The down­side is that the bag is too big for this tri­pod and it dan­gles freely in it. More­over, there are no ties inside the bag in order to clamp the tri­pod.
Oth­er­wise, there are no com­plaints — every­thing is done qual­i­ta­tive­ly.

The length of the fold­ed tri­pod is 39cm;
The min­i­mum height of the unfold­ed tri­pod is 53cm;
The max­i­mum tri­pod height is 154cm;
Max­i­mum allow­able load: 10kg.

The tri­pod is made of alu­minum-mag­ne­sium alloy. The assem­bly is high-qual­i­ty and sol­id, all parts of the tri­pod rotate / rotate / bend gen­tly and smooth­ly. There are no back­lash­es, smudges of grease or oth­er sim­i­lar trou­bles at all.

The legs of the tri­pod devi­ate and are auto­mat­i­cal­ly fixed using spring-loaded latch­es.

Each leg has 3 deflec­tion posi­tions and 4 retractable sec­tions (5 sec­tions in total), which are fixed with plas­tic latch­es (quite tight).

The ball head allows you to fix the plat­form in the required posi­tion, and it is also pos­si­ble to smooth­ly rotate the head hor­i­zon­tal­ly.
All three screws of the head clamp have a lim­iter that pre­vents them from being com­plete­ly unscrewed.

It is con­ve­nient to screw the plat­form to the cam­era thanks to a small hook. Screws along the edges of the plat­form pre­vent it from slip­ping out.

There is a ver­ti­cal bub­ble lev­el on the plat­form clamp. The dis­ad­van­tages include the lack of a hor­i­zon­tal lev­el, because it is he who is most often request­ed.

The head of the tri­pod is remov­able and is mount­ed on a thread with a diam­e­ter of 3/8″.

The tri­pod col­umn does not turn due to a small “block­er”.

There is an elas­tic band in the upper part of the col­umn, so that if it is unclenched, the low­er­ing is soft­er.

At the bot­tom of the col­umn there is a hook that allows you to attach an addi­tion­al load.

One of the main advan­tages of this tri­pod is the abil­i­ty to unscrew one of its legs (only one can be unscrewed), screw it to the tri­pod col­umn and use it as a mono­pod.
The length of the fold­ed mono­pod is 73cm, and the max­i­mum extend­ed length is 158cm.

Sum­ming up, I’ll say that I was very pleased with the tri­pod and now it is my main one (before that it was Ben­ro A150FBR0, com­pared to this tri­pod, this is heav­en and earth, not in favor of Ben­ro).

Among the main advan­tages, I note the excel­lent assem­bly and high qual­i­ty mate­ri­als, the abil­i­ty to use as a mono­pod and the pres­ence of a high-qual­i­ty bag in the kit.

The dis­ad­van­tages include the fact that the bag is too large for this tri­pod and the lack of a hor­i­zon­tal lev­el.

P.S. just a few days ago the price was $68.67, for this price the tri­pod is excel­lent. The price is con­stant­ly chang­ing, most like­ly on Novem­ber 11 it will be pos­si­ble to take it at a good price 🙂
